International Post-Secondary Students from Malta

The Students’ Maintenance Grants Unit accepts applications for stipends and grants from students in Malta who are pursuing international post-secondary education. These applications must be submitted through the standard channels, including completion of the online application and obtaining the necessary approvals.

The provisions of Subsidiary Legislation 605.06 regarding the eligibility of students for maintenance grants remain applicable.

New students must follow the detailed online instructions provided on how to apply.

For students under the age of 16, a consent form is required. This form must be uploaded as part of the online application. The template can be accessed via the same link above.

Applicants are required to enter details about their course of study. From the relevant drop-down menus, students must indicate whether they are:

  • Commencing their course of studies, or
  • Being promoted within their course.

They should also specify the course year (e.g., Year 1 or Year 2). In the Institute/School drop-down menu, select United World College / Foreign Post-Secondary Institutions, and in the Course drop-down, select International Baccalaureate / European Baccalaureate.

In addition to a scanned copy of their School Leaving Certificate & Profiling and the Certificate Supplement, students studying at foreign post-secondary institutions must also upload:

  • A document confirming acceptance or attendance at the institution
  • A scanned copy of their tuition fee receipt

Please note: No applications will be processed after 30th June 2026.
